About Chris
Hey, I'm Chris Ahjem and I'm a media freelancer with a Masters in Radio from Goldsmiths University. I'm also a BA graduate from The University of Sussex in English Literature and Film Studies.

This site is intended to bring together all my previous work from my work life as an Audiobook Producer and Editor, my Radio MA course and my tenure as Editor-in-Chief of The Badger to my work hosting, producing and editing my We Need To Talk About Movies and Four Eyes radio shows on University Radio Falmer as well as showcasing my creative eye through my personal photography.

Audiobook Producer & Editor
Freelancer
June 2021 - Present
As a freelancer, I have produced on over 150 titles.
For Heavy Entertainment, I've worked on projects including children's short stories, financial non-fiction, romance novels, thrillers and autobiographies. My production of The It Girl by Ruth Ware was one of Barnes & Noble's 'Best Audiobooks of 2022' and Wasteland won an Earphones Award.
For Chatterbox Audio, I have also produced both Elvekonger and Kongenes Knockler by Dr Cat Jarman historical non-fiction written and read in Norwegian.

For Penguin Random House, I've produced titles ranging from best-seller Abroad in Japan with author Chris Broad to non-fiction titles such as Limitarianism by Ingrid Robeyns and Penguin Classic Thoughts from the Ice-Drinker's Studio by Liang Qichao.
Jubilant FM
Host and Producer
January 2021 - April 2021
I joined this new, short-lived online radio station and hosted twice weekly shows spanning 6 hours of fun chat and joyful music!
Whilst there, I hosted slots including Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4pm, 'The Love Zone' on Tuesdays from 10pm-1am and Saturday from 4-7pm.

September 2020 - September 2021
Here you can find a collection of the varied audio work I starred in, wrote for, produced, created, hosted and edited whilst doing my Radio MA at Goldsmiths. For context, each piece was produced for 'Raft Radio' a fictional radio station with differing demographics each week.
The Badger Newspaper
Editor-in-Chief
June 2019 - June 2020
Having previously worked as the Media Compliance Supervisor and Print Production Editor, I was Editor-In-Chief of The Badger for a one year term. This included leading a team of 35+ editors and 130+ writers to create fortnightly newspapers for campus wide distribution. For this work, I won the 'Contribution to Student Media' Award at the Sussex Student Awards 2020.
We Need To Talk About Movies
Co-Host, Producer & Editor
September 2019 - May 2020
Having studied film, I created my own film discussion podcast with a rotating cast of hosts, an up-to-date film news segment and weekly film discussion. I also solely produced and edited each episode and was the sole social media curator.
